OTHER HAPPENINGS

We have a potential grant for LED lights for the lighting on the top of the buildings in the Village.  PGE is the grantor.  What we need is input from the merchants on their impressions as to whether or not they are in favor of the LED lights.  They take a lot less electricity and last much longer than the lights that we are now using.

The Village pots will be replanted with Marigolds on Saturday, May 3rd.  Please join us in this effort of beautification of the Village.  We meet at 8:00 am behind Lund’s and, even if you can only spare one hour, your help will be appreciated.

We will have 14 new planters in place by Saturday, May 10th and will be planting those with Marigolds on that day starting at 8:00.  Join us if you can.

You Association is working with the City for the production of a two minute video for Visitor TV for playing in the hotels and motels on the Central Coast.  We will share the cost of that video with the City and the video emphasizes the historic and cultural aspects of the Village.  The VIA is also redoing a separate two minute video that emphasizes the business attractions of the Village.

Our new Village brochure will be completed and ready for distribution in the next couple of weeks.  We will be ordering about 25,000 copies of the brochure this year.  We order15, 000 brochures now and then we order another 10,000 towards the end of summer.
