This Month's Excerpt....
Please be sure to attend this month’s general meeting. We will be announcing our newly elected Board of Directors for the
Association and introducing them. We will have several important items to discuss regarding events in the Village. We will
need your input on Halloween, the Art Walk and the Car Sho. This concerns whether or not Branch St. should be closed,
the hours for the events and related matters. Your input is very important so please attend and let us know. It is difficult to
make decisions without input from those who are most impacted.
The Harvest Festival is scheduled to occur on Friday evening, September 28th and Saturday, September 29th, with the parade
occurring on Saturday starting at 10:00 am. Branch St. will be closed from 9 am to noon. Olohan Alley will be closed starting
Thursday evening. The staging area for the parade will be by the Woman’s Club on West Branch where the parade will
start, continue along East Branch and end up at Mason St.. The parade entries will turn South on Mason and continue to
Poole Street where they will disband. The parade will be over at noon and Branch St. will reopen. Bridge St., Olohan and
Nelson will be closed on Saturday, the 29th for Harvest Festival events from 8 to 6. For more details on the festival, go to

October is shaping up to be an eventful month what with the resurfacing of the
Car Corral and the start of construction for the market next to old JJ’s.
We will have four representatives attending the America in Bloom national symposium
in Fayetteville, Arkansas on September 20th to the22nd. We are hopeful
that we will once again receive some recognition for the wonderful work that
this nonprofit does for our community. We will not find out until the 22nd what
our standing is but will let everyone know as soon as possible.
